A World of Open SourceIn the computer-oriented world we live in these days, most people do not think about the software that empowers the machines they use. Software is much like a song in that there is no physical representation, just more of an idea. When a programmer creates a program he has many options in how it is released to the world at large. Growing in power is the open source concept and its many incarnations. Open source provides the end user with so much more when they acquire a program, not to mention assisting a developer in the advancement of their creation.
